LAID BACK OKTOBERFEST WEDDING AT GALLAHER MANSION, NORWALK CT – DAVE AND JESSICA

Updated: Feb 20, 2019

Jessica and Dave met while Jessica's family was on safari in South Africa. How absolutely epic was that sentence! It's also a place that holds a special place in both their hearts.

When Dave reached out about my services and told me the wedding would be held at the Gallaher Mansion (https://www.norwalkct.org/Facilities/Facility/Details/1), I was super excited! Before I decided to elope, my husband and I looked at old gilded era mansions for our wedding, so being able to celebrate this amazing couples wedding at this venue was a treat.

For anyone future bride looking for a place to get married in southern CT, the Gallaher Mansion and Cranbury park does not disappoint! It's literally like walking into a 1920's dream, stonework for days, a perfectly manicured lawn and a small tea garden for perfect pictures. The amazing staff from AMG Catering (https://amgcatering.com/) walked me around the grounds and showed off their hard work to bring Jess and Dave's visions to life.

What was their vision?

An Oktoberfest wedding.

Kill me, how awesome is that! Full on Oktoberfest! The staff set up a super cool beer garden and beautiful details around the grounds.

As guests started to arrive, I noticed a few were wearing lederhosen, including Jess's grandfather. I was blow away at not only how supportive their families and friends were, but also at how invested some guests were with the theme.

Dave and Jess decided, in lieu of a formal ceremony where their guests sat, they would exchange vows at the top of the stars while their guests stood on the lawn. Their vows to each other were sweet, but also showed their carefree love for one another. Dave promised to let Jess have the first cup of french press coffee and Jess thanked him for letting her put her cold feet on his warm body at night (same here sis!).

After the ceremony, Jess' father recounted the day Dave and Jess met and gushed about his new son-in-law, wishing the new couples well and just to cement how hilarious this couple was, during Dave's toast, he thank his immigration lawyer and presented him with the "The World's Best Immigration Lawyer" award and statue.

Needless to say, their reception was absolutely popping!
